Chill people, C suite has gone bonkers
Pros
Wonderful people in the Belfast team, lovely managers, very chill atmosphere. Good autonomy in tech stack choice, flexibility in working hours. Pretty high base salary for Belfast at first.
Cons
C Suite has gone AI bonkers and has also started instigating arbitrary deadlines for huge legacy system deprecation initiatives. Mental health has tanked for many colleagues. DX is pretty lacklustre, and projects from business side constantly shift with what seems like a throw stuff at the wall to see what sticks. Except these are big enough initiatives so them being canned has created a bit of a meme expectation when handed a new one. Once in pay rises are pretty stingy. Not so great when all we hear is how much money the company is making.
