I feel like I am really contributing

Pros

I had been contemplating leaving G&D a few months back because it was so frustrating to make improvements - or even get the work done. A lot of upper management had been over-promoted. Some were good people who just didn't know what they were doing, and some were just lazy. The owners changed the leadership, and quickly the new team has made dramatic changes for the better. We use to talk and talk and talk and never make an action - now decisions are made and the work is getting done. I like working at G&D a lot more now because I feel like I am actually accomplishing things now.

Cons

It was hard to take the 5% paycut. I understand it because the old management had us dug in such a hole, but I hope it comes back to us quickly. It is also hard because old management and employees that were cut are trying to stir up trouble.

Pros

Leadership has been completely revitalized - they are making a lot of changes, but they have been long needed. Company use to be very top heavy - too many fat salaries. This took money away from the real workers. Also, we could never get anything done because there were too many people trying to talk about everything. The old management ran this place into the ground.

Cons

Making so many changes is hard on the people who have been here a long time - but the new employees laugh and can't believe we have had so many bad practices for so long. Old employees are filling up websites like Glassdoor with negative views - but they are the ones that drug the company down. The new senior management is just trying to fix their mistakes.

Exploitative Executive Management

Pros

Hope. Hope owners recognize the abysmal employer-employee relationship and takes action.

Cons

Undignified, unorganized, poorly planned mass downsizing has produced a work environment of apathy and low morale. Any executive team faced with the difficult decision to downsize understands how toxic it can be for remaining employees if not managed humanely. Any executive team but this one. Burdened with unfamiliar excessive workload, pay cuts, and loss of benefits, survivors of the downsizing find the current conditions intolerable. Employees from all levels are either resigned to "go down with the ship" or are actively seeking other employment. Truck drivers, essential to the financial recovery of this company are quitting weekly. Most employees (attested by the exodos) do not believe the current executive team has the talent or empathy to lead this company.
