Pros

Visibility to owner and upper management, management seems to treat people with mutual respect, small company that seems to value its employees.

Cons

Parts of the business unstable due to customer re-sourcing work to other suppliers. Low pay for the work. Most of the work was outsourced because it was not ideal to begin with.

Pros

Several opinions have been posted, both positive and negative, about the changes made this year at G&D Integrated. During the recent face to face employee meetings, senior leadership spent time sharing updates about where the company is headed. Equally important was the time spent discussing where the company had been. We looked at the scores from our 2012 Customer Surveys which were very poor. We explained the reasons for the financial decline we experienced in late 2012 and the 1st quarter of 2013. Business losses resulted in revenues that did not support the amount of overhead we were carrying. In short, we told the truth. We wanted everyone to understand that if a significant change to the way we operate did not occur, there was no guarantee we would be here even one year from now. Cost cutting decisions were made with a sense of urgency. As an organization we needed to stabilize and reset our priorities as a whole. While the decisions were necessary they were nothing short of difficult, despite what has been portrayed in the reviews. Prior to 2013, the vision for our organization had been unclear. Our focus was narrow and plans were made based on the short term not the long term. It is evident based on their years of service that we have loyal employees and we are grateful for their dedication. We fully acknowledge that it is the long term employees who built the foundation of G&D. However, the world we operate in has not been the same since the economic downtown that occurred in 2009 and finding ways to do more with less is now the standard. Any company who wishes to sustain itself must be willing to evolve and perhaps even try a completely different approach. Knowing this we have made a conscious choice to think and act differently. We have set new goals and are seeing positive results. Aside from financial stability, creativity and talent are emerging from within the team that may have gone unrecognized had things stayed the same. We are not naïve to think that everyone will embrace the new vision all at once. We cannot force this upon people and some may choose not to continue on this journey with us. As difficult as it may be the reality is we are changing. We feel confident about the new direction, optimistic about the outlook at G&D Integrated and are determined to keep moving forward.

Cons

Cultural change may be difficult for long term employees.
