Pros

Great co workers, yearly 3% pay increase and bonus.

Cons

Compensation for in-office employees is increasingly inadequate as the expectation for more in-office presence grows. The 3% annual increase scarcely covers the rising cost of living, let alone the additional expenses related to increased commuting and childcare costs. It feels like the company has changed so many of the reasons I wanted to join this company to begin with. It was sold as a company that valued their employees and appreciated work life balance. The job was explained as a 3:2 hybrid work schedule with flexibility as needed. That has been changed so much in the last couple of years and now the company is moving to a 4:1 work scheduled starting in September. There is a complete disregard for the working parents That need/want the extra two hours a day spent driving to and from the office to be with their family instead. We were told there would be flexibility with wfh due to the massive traffic being caused by sinkholes on Route 80. That lasted less than 2 weeks and now we are being told we must be back in office 3 days a week regardless of how long the commute will now be. Yes the company offered the idea of a shuttle from public transportation but many of us live in areas where catching a train is not a better option than sitting in traffic.

Pros

WAS a good place to work, in late 2016 new dictator management ruined that. Good money if you wanna sell your freedom (hence the starting rate of pay trying to fish you in). Relatively safe work place for heavy industry, except for exhaustion, air quality and sanity. Finally a decent bonus program (hush money). If you like having a ball and chain around your ankle, this place is for you. No matter how much you do, it's never enough.

Cons

No work/family balance. Company doesn't care about the (hourly) people that make the place run. No loyalty, you're just another notch on their bed post. There's a reason why they can't stay fully staffed. The union is weak, getting strong armed by the company, benefits are below average with a laughable retirement plan (might as well plan on working till death due you part). The plant is old, machinery out dated, "run more with less" seems to be the motto. Corporate doesn't support this plant much as it's one of the smaller plants, minimal investments except to help environmental complaints from the neighbors. Salaried staff are a bunch of puppets for the "managers", if you're not a puppet you'll be forced out, CYA mentality.

Pros

This was a great place to work. I referred a few friends to even join the company. There was a common goal and while it had its faults, to be expected, nothing felt insurmountable.

Cons

I’ve never experienced seeing the downturn of morale and employee engagement in such a short period of time. There is a lack of regard to employees from upper management. Work life balance is a joke now, lower level managers care and try to make things better but they are handcuffed by the higher ups. Feelings are no longer considered. No employee input is asked in regards to changes in working situations. We had record years remote due to the pandemic but let’s shove everyone back into an overflowing office and then still hold all meetings virtual since there are no meeting rooms available.
