Pros

Gained valuable experience. Have an ESOP program. Laid back atmosphere.

Cons

Inconsistent salaries and everything is based on whether you get a supervisor who cares about your development. Some work hard for their employees, while others go through the routine just to get their tasks done. If you feel you got a poor raise, there's no negotiation process. Benefits are mediocre. 401k match is terrible. Tuition reimbursement is terrible. A main selling point in the hiring process out of college was that they had a "great" tuition reimbursement plan. GAI pays a maximum $1,000 per YEAR, up until last year where they increased it to $2,500 per year with a 2 year payback period if you leave. Don't work here if you want to go back to school, or else you'll be basically paying for all of it. HR makes you do yearly goals, then have supervisors review them at the end of the year. The problem is, the salary increases for the next year are already approved prior to the yearly reviews, so they are meaningless and hence nobody takes them seriously. GAI has had a very high turnover rate the past few years. Most people with about 5 to 7 years have been bailing left and right. This is mainly due to two completely opposing scenarios: either they got promoted into positions where they couldn't handle it and left, or they weren't getting promoted at all and were underpaid. GAI is hellbent on achieving 1000 employees that they spend more effort on new hires and often neglect their current employees.

Pros

They have a number of outstanding dedicated employees.

Cons

Strategy seems to be under bid projects and make employees donate time to keep projects profitable. They take advantage of employees. Very poor Life - Work Balance.
