      Pros

      Great work life balance and smart people.

      Cons

      Lots of reorgs (i.e., layoffs) going down at GE Power as the gas power market is in decline and the company has been grossly mismanaged and is now dealing with decisions made five, ten, even fifteen years ago. Rotationees from DTLP, FMP & JOLP have left GE at the end of their rotations because of the lack of opportunities and stability. With such a turbulent environment, leaders are hesitant to make changes and innovate. Funding for projects get slashed all the time and people left are overworked. Wouldn't recommend working here unless you're a mechanical engineer specializing in rotating equipment...and even then I'd say look elsewhere if you need stability.

      Pros

      Incredible training programs. Very strong HR function - rigorous and fair. Great opportunities for those that choose to work hard.

      Cons

      If you want to coast, don't work for GE. GE expects your best. For those that have worked in smaller businesses, GE can appear to be complicated and bureaucratic with its complex matrixed organizational structures.

      Pros

      The work environment is good, with people generally getting along well. Benefits and pay are also competitive. Overall it is a decent place to work.

      Cons

      A lot of budget cuts and restrictions lately. Multiple trips have been cancelled, a lot of hiring freezes and even some layoffs. Raises are fairly minimal, and sometimes it seems like upper management cares more for their own own paycheck than the benefit of the company.
