Work for Free while micromanaged

Pros

401K benefits are good if you can last for 5 years to become fully vested Tuition assistance is good if you can find time to study after working 12 hour days

Cons

Working for Geico is more like being an indentured servant than a full time employee. You will be given more tasks than anybody could complete in a 12 hour day and be paid for exactly 7.75 hours. Do not even consider applying for overtime or your productivity rating will suffer and you will be told that you have poor organizational skills and put on a coaching plan. Be prepared to be micromanaged beyond your wildest dreams when our five dollar management team monitors and records your customer telephone conversations. You will then experience the pleasure of being criticized and Monday morning quarterbacked for failing to completely satisfy the customer who is being cheated by Geico. Geico requires you to use the cheapest part available on every repair estimate even if the part is listed as damaged or defective, The collision repair shop will usually review the Geico approved repair estimate with the customer and point out any obvious deficiencies so good luck on getting a positive customer service survey after the customer realizes the type of shoddy repairs authorized on their vehicle. By following the company guidelines you write a repair estimate that is not only low but an actual insult to every day common sense. Every vehicle has to be re-inspected several times before enough money has been authorized to begin the repair process and these delays cause rental costs to soar which is just another metric you will be evaluated on. Prospective employees often wonder why the job interview process at Geico is so time consuming. The simple reason is that the company needs to know how you handle stress and how much abuse you can take before they hire you. Employee turnover has gotten ridiculous in the last few years so they need workers that are subservient and not confident that they can find a decent job elsewhere. All new hires in training are strongly encouraged to submit positive feedback on job review websites before they realize what they have gotten themselves into.
