There are lots of opportuties for fieldworks. This is especially fulfilling as you will see practical applications of your designs (plus field allowances)

Cons

Perhaps difficulty in climbing the ladder since there are lots of geotechnical engr and geologists in the dept. There's a total of 12 of us.
