      Pros

      Gain good experience but at the cost of your sanity, social life and financial well-being. Co-workers are good but everyone just complains about low-pay and long hours.

      Cons

      Waterloo department is terribly operated. Below average pay with next to zero raises ($0.50/hour raise after full-time for 3 years), extremely long hours with no recognition when a job well done is performed, forced time-off during slow times of year (winter season) and cheap when performing away-from-home jobs (bad hotels, low per diem pay and difficult work conditions).

      Work is interesting and some of the people made the experience more pleasant

      Cons

      Really unequal treatment between locations. Employees in Canadian offices receive 11 or 12 paid holidays a year while the American offices, some of which are just a few miles apart across the border, only get 8 holidays. Departments within a single location are treated differently. One department might be seriously understaffed and another has so many employees that they're tripping over one another. While the employees in the short-staffed department are struggling to keep up with the deluge of work, the employees in the overstaffed departments are frequently found outside smoking cigarettes for 10 minutes at least once an hour. There is no cooperation between departments; if one group is really busy and another group isn't, the idle workers will go out for a smoke or just leave early rather than pitch in and help outside their department and management supports that mentality. There's a lot of dead wood in certain departments and it's costing the company as a whole.
