Pros

During my years working in GHD I had the opportunity to mean many Talented and interesting people that I am still in touch with

Cons

The company markets itself as an International Engineering Consult with a vision, mission and values. Yet the vision, mission and the value's are only of an Australian Engineering company that has opened offices in other locations. There vision for most of the time is not inline with the regions that they have set offices in. Their mission is not inline with the project in each geographical region and their values are not in line with the regions that they have offices in. They have taken a model from Australia office and have no idea who the rest of the world work or deals with matter. Specially when it comes to its Human Capital oveseas or outside Australia. The managment and prefered staff are even in other countries are Australians. During the ression era majority of staff they were made redundant were non Australians. Australians were the last to go or where given options to transfer back to Australia. I do not recommend this company to an individual who would like to work in company that values multicultural envirnment.

Pros

GHD has some very good technical people. As an engineer or other technical professional, there are opportunities to work with good people that are highly dedicated to their professions.

Cons

One would expect that GHD being a multi-disciplinary organisation would have strengths in delivering multi-disciplinary complex projects globally. In my experience I found this not to be the case. The business operates as scores of separate service groups and business groups. The co-ordination occurs between these business groups and its ability to manage and deliver multi-disciplinary projects is limited. The focus on delivery to clients is budget. If this means delivering a product of lower than expected quality, then delivering to budget remains paramount. GHD's work order book has been declining in the Australia market as competitors are delivering beyond their clients expectations. GHD continue to deliver mediocre products at best. If you are an employee and your utilisation is below 60 per cent. Find another job, as you will be targeted for redundancy. Redundancy can happen anytime, anywhere to anyone at GHD in this current market. Also if you are a business that has been acquired by GHD, don't expect the transition to be a smooth one,
