Pros
The company moved to Kalispell last year. 11 people, including 4 women, moved more than 800 miles to stay with the company, which says a lot about how they feel about the company. I was told they moved because of the hosing prices in Oregon.
People are pretty passionate about the work and helping clients. The company helps governments with safety issues like keeping guns from bad guys and protecting kids in foster care. The work is meaningful - IT can be a analytical, but this feels like I'm making a difference.
There are opportunities to find your fit. My manger does a nice job of supporting my skill development. I started with limited technical skills. I wasn't sure whether I wanted to spend time with clients or on more technical stuff. They helped me.
There is a lot of mutual respect and friends. People are genuinely nice to each other. Managers are friendly. Even the CEO took time to encourage me. The people on my team are the best. They have fun together and work hard. If you have a question, they always stop and help.
I like being in an office where most people still work together. I've tried remote work and it's not for me.
The pay is pretty good.
Compared to my other experiences, this is a nice place to call home.
Cons
The work can be a little complicated. I wish they made it easier to learn. The clients are sometimes difficult to help. Some do not really understand software. Takes some patience. They can cause fire drills too -- which is sometimes stressful when you get an urgent issue at the end of the day.
