Pros

Not too much work pressure. Nice working environment as co-workers and colleagues are very helpful. Work provides an opportunity to interact with key opinion leaders across multi-sectors.

Cons

Very less salary. Management needs to improve. They lack the leadership skills and fail to motivate the team to improve performance. Work is repetitive.

Pros

International work environment with matrix structure Exposure to the big picture very early on Chance to work with the biggest who is who of the industry Chance to work and network with the largest Investment banks, hedge funds and PE firms. A leader in its line of business. All competitors are pretty far behind! Very good salary and bonuses. good work is always rewarded

Cons

Profile is restricted. you move up the hierarchy; however might just be stuck doing the same thing for higher pay and designation! if you are the kind of person who likes to be comfortable in life...it is ideal for you. If you are looking for new challenges, maybe you will want to skip this Since GLG is the leader and the others far behind does not make sense to move to any of them from GLG. The business however is very niche so it is difficult to transition to a different industry

Pros

Decent benefits, great product and company. Colleagues are some of the brightest people to work with, and the company founding culture is an excellent one. Great locations, forward thinking.

Cons

Low salaries, poor policies on promotions, worst at communication, culture is inconsistent - in some groups it is very good, in others, it is like high school shenanigans. Unable to challenge their own thinking, high turnover in research due to horrendous work/life balance, non-existent marketing, unable to commit to what works, cheap.
