Strange place to work

Pros

Some of my peers on my level (non-leadership) were very approachable.

Cons

I worked at GMF, During my time there, I observed multiple rounds of layoffs approximately every 2–3 years, Each round disproportionately affected women and employees from underrepresented backgrounds and people of color. For example, in the most recent round, three women and two people of color were part of the reductions. This recurring trend was concerning and contributed to my decision to leave.

Pros

Competitive salary, you get to meet great people, everyone tries to help each other when things get tough. They offer a lot of activities to encourage collaboration and fun after work. Managers are usually smart and grant independence.

Cons

They actively discourage remote work. Technically speaking, compartmentalization slows down innovation when trying to do something out of the norm. Rigid structure in all aspects.
