Pros

Great to help people 30% employee discount

Cons

Terrible regional manager, ridiculous goals: causes everyone to be pushy since your paycheck is defined by your sales. One month oxeyelite gives you a commission of $7.50 per unit sold, the next it's $3 and another product has a higher commission so it causes inconsistencies with what we sell. They pay sales associates minimum wage plus commission but not on gnc brand, yet associates have very unrealistic goals to hit with multivitamins(14%), gold cards(14%), p3's(40%)(gnc brand products that are so expensive and keep going up), and oms(those chews that you're offered are "one more sale items and are supposed to be offered to every single customers bc the goal is at least 5% of all sales). If you hit these minimum goals, you don't rank anywhere near the top and you get phone calls all day long to get these numbers higher even though you've made goals. No congratulations...no good job...simply do better! The regional manager, Brian Houston is probably the laziest person I've ver met. He relies on maybe 3 of the best stores to keep his numbers decent and let's the low volume stores get away with having the worst numbers ever. He takes credit for everything while he visits 2 of the 23 stores he has and just hangs out with the managers while he gets his single district manager to do everything while running the highest volume location. If you're not at a military location, the pay is not worth working at GNC period. If you're part time at a high volume store, getting promoted to management at a low volume store is really a huge pay cut!

Pros

Growing company with opportunity to advance

Cons

Your job depends on meeting and exceeding goals in many categories and contests. Whenever you reach the goal it is raised so then you are not meeting expectations and your job is now on the line. Every associate must attack each customer to buy the latest contests, and every category being judged. Even if you make all but one goal you still fail, and you will be replaced.

Pros

Employee Discount, valuable product knowledge, ok training, and overall easy job.

Cons

Numbers are everything. High pressure sales, under compensated and under appreciative of employees. Store managers are unprofessional and rude. Lots of work for little pay.
