Pros

Customer interaction and relationship building was rewarding Improving the health and wellbeing of others Beating sales goals from previous years. The most incredible moment of working at GNC was when a customer of ours came in for help because she was losing her battle with cancer. Her hair was falling out and her weight was down significantly. My associate and I sold her some products to help with her battle. I thought she wouldn't survive and to my surprise she came back in a few months later. Her weight was up and her hair had regrown. She thanked us and said that we helped save her life. To see the life breathed back into her was something that words cannot express the feeling of.

Cons

Loss Prevention Department is crazy. Constant pressure to sell multi vitamins, gold cards, UPT, CP3, Shaker bottle %, Resuable bag %, absolutely ridiculous number of things to track Management doesn't return phone calls for days, sometimes weeks Pay is minimal for the amount of skill required to effectively operate a store Selling soft chews filled with sugar for the OMS program is hilarious

Pros

Discounts! Employees get 30% off everything except hot buy items. this includes all sales and closed dated items. The environment can be stimulating and a lot of fun with the right demographic.

Cons

Can be exceptionally irritating in the wrong store, Employees do not recieve a percentage commission off of the P3 products they are encouraged to sell. I often times as an associate sell $1500 in product and make less than 5% of that in commission so that I can get more hours.
