Pros

helping customers achieve their goals can be very satisfying. You gain alot of knowledge about supplements and how they affect your health, which allows you to live a healthier life and to help your customers live a healthier life.

Cons

corporate gnc is extremely fragmented. You often get directions from different departments that send you in 2 different directions at once. There is no recognition of this at the corporate level and it can be extremely frustrating! Rather than taking resonsibilty for this and correcting it, they simply issue another direction. The pay is less than satisfying.

Pros

A lot of free time.

Cons

-Poor compensations -No monetary incentives(You could sell 300 P3's and not make a dime) -GNC now takes .25 cents an hour out of your GNC comissions(which is ironic because you can only make money off of selling gold cards. -Upper management are a bunch of useless puppets -The company makes so much money, but refuses to share any with the people doing the REAL work and selling their bogus products. -Unrealistic sales goals -Pushing every new GNC product, Multi-Vitamin-, or P3 on unsuspecting customers. -You have to dress like you're some sort of professional, but you're still making minimum wage. -You only make money on 3rd party products, but you're not encouraged to sell them. -You don't make any money selling GNC products, but you're required to sell them to everyone. -You have a list of 6 or 7 things to do to harass the customer before they even pay.

Pros

-good experience for sales positions -get to meet some great people -easy job when you aren't inundated with training and merchandising -flexible hours

Cons

-very little growth potential -work comes in waves, could sit around for hours with nothing to do during a shift, then two days later work like crazy to get merchandising done on time -very low pay -they took away commissions for new employees, but didn't raise the starting hourly rate, cutting earning potential way down
