Pros

Great interactions with great customers! That used to be the motto and goal! I used to love working for GNC.

Cons

GNC has lost touch with reality yet again and upper management is teaching agenda based selling again and disguising it as customer based!

Good opportunities for young people

Pros

Lots of internal hiring, product knowledge about supplements and vitamins, 30% discount on everything, nice to work with like minded healthy people

Cons

Too many expectations for not enough pay. Coming into the company in your 20’s or older, the wages are a slap in the face!! And it would be 6 years before you’re making a decent salary if you are totally invested in the company.

Pros

Working with customers to reach their health and fitness goals. Freebies from vendors including free supplements and apparel. Great career opportunities because of high turnover and pressure to perform.

Cons

So many. Turn over is at an all time high at all levels of the business. We went through two regional sales directors and FOUR district sales managers in a 2 year period. Very poor leadership and communication from upper management that is driving the business in to the ground. Excessive and repetitive beat um’ up conferance calls to start your shifts on a negative note. Laughable commission amounts that used to be TRIPLE what they are now 3 years ago. Increasing workloads and decreasing pay. Terrible depressing company culture.
