Pros

Good benefits and infrastructure .

Cons

Some IT directors lack a comprehensive understanding of technologies, and certain Indian directors tend to prefer hiring only Indians, protecting them while disregarding others. Additionally, they often lack well-defined roadmaps for the next 1-2 years and exhibit a pattern of hiring and firing without clear justifications. It's advisable to avoid affiliations with such a company.

Great Mission But Lots to Fix

Pros

Worthwhile mission, important product/tech, interesting work, good health benefits.

Cons

Lots of politics. People without credentials, real world (outside of GRAIL) experience or leadership traits getting VP and SVP roles because of threats and longevity. Other deserving people who are really contributing and worth their salt are overlooked, underpaid and undertitled. This lends to a revolving door and loss of top talent due to lopsided HR processes (if any - it’s a black hole) and unfortunately, some questionable “leaders” making questionable, self-serving decisions. No 401k contributions! Uncertain times due to acquisition. Unclear what equity will look like since acquisition. Lots more people about to jump ship after bonuses are paid in March - waiting for the tailspin that will effect our already heavy workload…

Some culture issues, but still exciting

Pros

Really exciting mission with broad benefits to human health if realized. Great talent and particularly deep technical resources for a healthcare company. This is still a place to be if you want to work on something truly impactful and cutting-edge.

Cons

Significant leadership and engineering turnover in recent months has impacted overall employee morale, and there isn’t a high degree of confidence in the leaders remaining. Career development is very bleak and favoritism rampant, esp. in the bioinformatics function.
