Pros

Complex and challenging work Intelligent and talented colleagues to work with and learn from Strong corporate culture in Finance Ample opportunities to climb the career ladder, if you so desire

Cons

Difficult to transfer quickly to opportunities in the US, because of the 18 month rule. Some employees are '100% fat' ie. they give little value to GSK. If GSK was to make these employees redundant, they would most likely not find employment at the renumeration level they were on and would struggle to sell themselves in the wider job market.

Pros

Great benefits, flexible work options, good time-off policy. Can find challenging opportunities if you excel at work.

Cons

Forget about career growth if you are sincere and hard-working but want to stay away from politics and back-stabbing games. VPs and Directors from Old School of thought are still sticking to their bossy and arrogant culture while the CEO is trying to be more open, flexible and trying to create an empowering culture.
