Pros

The people (The good ones are worth sticking around for); Work/life balance depending on the role and state of business unit at the time, and employee benefits

Cons

The people; Development programs overpromise placement and high pay, and you really have to self advocate for your own success and deal with constant manager turnover and teams reorganizing. It can be challenging to work on your own development when you are simply just trying to stay afloat and fearing for the next layoff. Big on groupthink... i.e., people told they would be fired if not vaccinated or if not willing to come back into the office after being fully remote for years; Little room for unconventional thinking or inclusivity of individual needs for work/life balance and overall health

GSK Consumer Healthcare is a nightmare. Run away from here.

Pros

None. Some flexibility due to Covid, but that is what every company is doing right now anyway. I would actually say this is a con at GSK since we still get bombarded with 15 hours a day of work while having to work remote with home schooling. -A few amazing managers that are helpful. However, they can only do so much when the overall culture is terrible.

Cons

GSK Consumer Healthcare is a nightmare. Run away from here. I came here from the Pfizer Consumer Healthcare merger. I have had the same role at Pfizer and now at GSK. However, it went from an amazing company and culture, to a toxic hell. How can that happen in the exact same job? That tells you how the problem is with GSK. Everyone from legacy Pfizer is leaving. Nobody is happy here and there is constant blaming and miserable atmosphere. Cons -No respect for peoples time or calendars. -Meetings are added on top of blocked calendars. -2 hour meetings are added with short notice. -6-8 hours of meetings and 200 new emails per day. -No time to get any work done. If a meeting or email is missed people track you down, only leading to more wasted time reading and responding. -Constant change in processes and systems leading to new training needed. -Overall compensation low compared to industry peers. -No decision makers. Constant analysis needed over and over with nobody giving direction on next steps. -Any issues get bubbled up to the top and everyone in the organization. This lead to more questions and work needed that doesn’t add value. -20 years of experience and treated like an intern. Work is constantly scrutinized and questioned. -Record breaking sales yet everyone is still miserable. -Unprepared for Pfizer merger which created the largest Consumer Healthcare company. How do you not add resources for this? -Zero leadership. Toxic culture. Too many people overstepping yet nobody making final decisions. -Incorrect systems and reports. Reports get viewed by everyone. This leads to wasted time trying to dig into the errors instead of doing actual work. -Constant immediate deadlines. Tasks provided at 4pm are due same day. Tasks given for weekends. -Constant requests that are just busy work and have no added value. -Plenty more but that is all I have at the moment.

Pros

If you like the circus then this is the place to go. Having the company name on your resume will get you an interview with another company. Great benefits....

Cons

The pay is not commensurate with your experience or the expensive area this particular site is located. If management knew how to manage they wouldn’t have so many hiccups- from the process to personnel. No room for advancement.
