Business Outlook

Pros

It's a growing business, which has seen accelerated expansion over the last 12 months. As a result, there's no shortage of opportunities and plenty of chances to progress as far as you are comfortable. Very open to using technology and there's a desire at all levels to improve - hard work is celebrated. Learning & Development is championed at all levels.

Cons

GXO has lost some of its charm since the spin from XPO. Sadly the CEO is not as charismatic as Jacobs, although Manduca has been parachuted in to support. Nonetheless, Wilson is still a very good CEO. However, GXO feels increasingly fast paced and it feels like support for 'work life balance' has been eroded over last few years, which is definitely impacting depot engagement, where bonuses have been cut consistently and retention is an increasing problem. Internal Communications are still an issue for the company - the weak link seems to be between corporate functions and depot operations - particularly at administrative level, since a lot of information is broadcast to overworked Senior Managers who often don't have time to cascade. Depot/Corporate teams are expected to learn contacts 'on the job' and there aren't always clear guides or channels of communication for things like payroll, procurement, IT or HR process escalations.
