Gabriels Technology is no longer hiring in the NY office in what would appear to be an effort to reduce full time staff below 50 employees. Through position elimination and attrition, down from at one point over 100 employees to now 48, the company is a skeleton of what once was a very busy, creative and active environment. The culture has all but dried up due to the lack of any motivation from senior management. The attitude is you should be just glad you have a job as positions seem to be consolidated to already overworked staff with dwindling resources creating an overall office mood which is depressing at best. There are no bonuses, no 401K matching, non-existent raises which are vaguely promised, reduced benefits (same cost but more out of pocket expenses) and zero annual reviews - the company seems to not want to care or invest in their employees careers or future. With the lack of any type of incentive to grow or perform (beyond the threat of being fired), the remaining employees provide uninspired work. Moral has dropped precipitously since the end of 2012 when the company would not even organize a holiday party and employees received a template email greeting - Bah Humbug. All technology positions have been moved to overseas operations. New York is purely a client services operation with only a handful of project management and front-end design positions remaining. The office itself is run down, messy, with no design aesthetic and small cubicles for floor staff ringed by closed door offices of the middle and senior management teams.
