Company workforce is trending toward off-shore with the exception of recent college graduates, relatives, or interns. A lot of the local talent has disappeared due to cutbacks and stagnant salaries. Half the NY office is empty as evident when entering the floor. Executives tend to show favoritism and rules seem to apply at will. Fairness is quite subjective. They've had some of the strangest restrictions in the office (which only apply to non-management): no food, then no hot food, two-year microwave ban, no extra electrical appliances (ie fans). Last year then even turned off the fridge and a coffee machine and removed all personal office fans to keep the electricity usage down.

The company has a fairly flat structure, so the position you are hired for is the title you'll keep, probably for your entire stay. Demeaning, arbitrary rules about food (no eating in the office), dress code and a time-clock - yes, a time-clock - for all salaried employees show the disrespectful attitude of management.
