Poor management, either young and inexperienced or older and focused on product sales. This is not a consulting company - it is a company that sells surveys. Titles of Partner and Engagement Manager - reality is Sales and Project Manager. Little to no intellectual capital being generated. If you spend your time "consulting" and solving problems - you are looked at negatively because you do not "believe in the products." My recommendation is NOT to join this company if you have aspirations to join a consulting company to do consulting. This is not a company that values an MBA.

Inward-looking leadership. Family owned inner-cirlce that does what they can to protect their money. Therefore, decisions do not reflect those of the rest of the company. Furthermore, the leadership is almost cowboy-like, stating we were going on the largest hiring blitz when everyone else was cutting back. Gallup is now paying dearly for this decision, as they are overstaffed with dwindling work. It seems we lose a major contract to competitors about once a week lately. This is resulting in mass layoffs throughout the company, and now everyone is scared for their jobs. Unless you are on the exec committee. The exec committee makes all the decisions, and does what they can to hold on to their money, and will not listen to the anyone else in the company. Finally, the new hires come in ultra-engaged as they are spoonfed false ideologies that Gallup is a unique "strengths-based organization." Veterans are fairly disengaged when they learn soon enough that the only people that matter are those on the exec committee. Interestingly the people with real talent get ousted because they are viewed as a threat to the top. Some of my best mentors have been let go/fired because of this mentality.
