Pros

Friendly work environment, plenty of opportunity to move around and they do truly care about career for employee's

Cons

Pay rates range from Average/Mid-level to Competitive depending on the role. Usually higher roles are overpaid, and mid range to lower level roles are grossly underpaid. Job roles have very little transferrable experience aside from what you bring with you through the door.

Pros

Great discount and benefits package. Decent pay however not worth the stress.

Cons

Too much pressure to push credit cards. It is the companys only concern. If you're not meeting your goals then you will hear about it nonstop from upper management. The expectations are unrealistic for tasking versus credit card sales. Again, this is their number 1 priority. I was a new hire manager for a little over a month and never received proper training, was never allowed to do what I was hired for, which is Merchandising and to work with the staff on credit card sales. It was always about credit cards, and trying to pitch them the "Gap way". My new approach was shot down because I believed not throwing credit cards at the customers as soon as they approached the cash wrap would be more effectice. However Gap wants that to be first thing you mention as well as on the floor and throughout the customers shopping. Not mention the expectation to work extra hours, coming in early or staying late to recover the store because, again, if you're not getting cards then nothing else at all should be done during business hours. I was employeed 5 weeks and have never been more stressed at a job in the 15 years I have been working.

Pros

• Health care • PTO • Overtime • Diversity

Cons

I complained to a supervisor and manager about a coworker following me. They didn't do anything about it. They thought I made it up in my head. They just suggested I change shifts, while the coworker suffered no consequences. I think they felt the complaint was not substantial just because I was a man complaining about a woman. If it were the other way around, they would have held a conversation with me even with no evidence I were following a woman at work. As for HR, they did not listen to me when I cooperated with an investigation into my violation of personal conduct. Instead, they stuck with the version from someone I messaged online about my situation but never saw me misbehave. That coworker embellished details about me. HR also tried to incriminate me when I told them a third coworker threatened me. Finally, I think the supervisors don't care about their employees. They need to work on listening to employees' concerns and stop overworking some while protecting their favorites.
