Pros

Fun People Good culture Work Life balance A product you can be proud of

Cons

Difficult to climb the ladder, you have to wait for an open position and likely the most senior person will get it. Talent isn't rewarded as much as at other companies. You get small raises and bonuses. Like all big companies, your experience will depend on your team and your boss In the big brands like Old Navy and Gap, there's lots of red tape to make a decision

Bad Management Supervisors and a hostile environment

Pros

Good pay, good benefits. Can't think of anything more that's good.

Cons

Terrible supervisors and management. Even HR admits that supervisors and management personnel have problems. They micro manage. They institute quotas and when you reach your quota they adjust it higher and expect more. Then when you don't meet the new quota you get a "talking" too. However, management touts that they are a "warm and fuzzy" style management. They don't live up to their words.

Pros

(corporate) They have great opportunities for promotions if you are motivated, the culture at HQ is very laid back and a younger crowd (mid 20s/early 30's majority). The pay is solid and the benefits are great including the discount but also trips to giants games annually and other random fun events. They have a results only work environment which enables you to work remote often and have whatever schedule works best for you (at Gap Brand specifically)

Cons

There has been a lot of turnover at the senior leadership level over the past couple of years and it makes for a constant changing of directions. Some leaders tend to spend too much time micro managing smaller details that would be better left to people underneath them. promotional requirements will vary depending on which managers you work under which isn't always in your favor.
