Pros

Good to build your network with board members of the clients. benefits are good (pension, company car, etc)

Cons

Gartner is a sales organisation nothing more nothing less, if you love pure sales of what ever and don't have in-depth IT experience Gartner is the place to get a job. If you are into IT don't join into a sales role. Payment is average, variable payment is terrible from a steady income perspective. as sales you are being thought all the tricks to close the sale quickly as a Gartner sales rep you will never become a trusted advisor to your clients (this is exclusively for the analysts and executive partners). You just need to squeeze the client harder and harder for additional business. Gartner is a company you either love or hate, nothing in between. The external perception of Gartner is totally different than how the company works internally.

Pros

Great culture of ownership. You are empowered to achieve results and have opportunity to connect your personal values, drivers and goals with what the role and Gartner environment can offer to achieve. Motivation and recognition is key to leadership and management style. Ultimate focus on personal development, individual skill/knowledge or group training. Career progression is open to many options, moves to management or different business division. Performance is recognized and rewarded based on meritocratic standards

Cons

I really enjoy working here. Perhaps one of the possible downsides is becoming too much used to Gartner way of thinking as there is always a new project, a new idea to work on and time can fly by fast! :) It is good to reflect every now and then to get a perspective from a different angle.

Pros

Great support from management Administrative help in managing expenses, calendar, and call volumes Lots of travel, but flexibility working from home, or anywhere

Cons

If you work really hard you are often not rewarded for it. Too many talented people, makes it hard to be recognized. (both good and bad!) Long hours, but to be expected Calendar is booked way in advance, less flexible
