Great place to work for. People are friendly in general. Jobs are fairly stable if you can get one here.

Cons

The higher you climb up to the corporate ladder, the more politics you have to deal on a regular basis. I guess it's common for most companies consist of 10,000 or more employees.

Good options for food at cafeterias Below market prices for salad bar Good people who mostly seem to have work/life balance Fair treatment of contractors Flexible with time/off schedule – all depends on your management and team Free coffee, and espresso machines throughout floors

Cons

It’s a big company and there are of course politics Decisions don’t always get made through a consistent channel Seems to be a lot of “speculating” going on with regards to how the Roche merger will impact Genentech, Inc. Management is pretty removed from the day-to-day of employees but in the same way that all companies this size experience it There does seem to be a fair amount of people that are overworked and really stressed, again depends on project, management, team and area of expertise
