Pros

A lot of opportunity for a person who thrives on a “startup “ business model. Smart people, for the most part, and lots of room to instruct senior members on how to do things better.

Cons

Old school mentality. If you are a person who wants cultural diversity, open communication, room to grow (with little to no politics), no overt sexual harassment, etc. This is not the organization for you.

Pros

Continuous flow of challenges. Company is willing to invest in new production equipment/technology. Opportunities to travel/relocate if desired. All signs point to a bright future with continued growth for Generac which provides substantial job security

Cons

Extremely difficult to complete goals on time, under budget, etc. due to steadily increase in demand. Currently experiencing severe resource shortages which has been resulting in certain positions being required to pick up slack time after time. Short term workload increase would seem to be acceptable however thus far, it seems like Generac hasn’t identified this as a core issue. A consistent flow of employees leaving and spots not being filled at all or in a timely manner will continue to dig a bigger hole to get out of.

Pros

The last 24 months have seen the company triple in size, and is now a Fortune 500 company. I don't see this changing and expect more growth in the next 36 months. We are hiring!

Cons

The HR department is stuck in the past and really doesn't understand what the going market rate is for employees today. New hires are getting a higher compensation than their boss in some roles. Due to the hiring blitz, some new hires are not even qualified for their roles which is worse than leaving the position open. The CEO needs to recognize that there are more important issues at Generac than maintaining the stock price.
