Pros
9/80 work schedule gets you a 3 day weekend every other week. Good people trying to build good product for American servicemembers. Great health/dental benefits, 401k, merit raise and bonus programs.
Cons
Government programs are glacial. Development cycles are measured in decades. If you need constant reinforcement, probably not the best place to work. Sometimes more iimportant the time (money) you spend than the product you build. Government programs are also very susceptible to cuts as administrations and military adjusts their purchasing requirements - adds volatility and drops job security as a result.
