Pros

Pay and benefits are good as compared to the employment in the area. Develop products that directly impact our military.

Cons

Very poor engineering management! Will take advantage of engineers treating them like indentured servants. The cost of good pay is tolerating the unprofessional and retaliatory nature of management.

Pros

better-than-average perks of a big company (benefits). flexible daily schedule so long as you are reachable and do your work. fair amount of PTO. Coworkers are smart. Plenty of opportunities to learn. not bad benefits for people that stick here for a while (work from home capability). They match 1:1 for 3% and 50% for the next 3% for 401k.

Cons

not as good as other tech companies. it's a federal contractor so everything is tightly wound by the budget. It's slow and there is minimal room for advancement in the company depending on what you work on. The people that work here could get much better-paying jobs but don't because of the W/L balance and the relative proximity of the site to home for many of these people.

Pros

9/80 Work schedule Many nice people

Cons

Annual reorganizations. Lack of leadership. When new positions are created during a re-org, the management deck gets re-shuffled regardless of expertise or knowledge. No new hires brought in for Management talent or subject matter expertise. Old boys club for leadership. Too many layers of ineffective managers. GDAIS and GDC4S reorganized in January 2015 and we still operate and are AIS and C4S employees. Change is excruciatingly slow and lots of good employees are looking elsewhere.
