      Be cautious about interning

      Pros

      Pay is generous for an internship Management is interested in hiring interns and works to make them happy in their roles. Very little is expected because everything is so slow.

      Cons

      Everything moves so slowly. Some interns did not even get laptops for the entire summer because getting them was such a long process. A 3-month internship is not nearly enough time to make sizable progress on a project because of disorganized management and plodding government bureaucracy. I would not recommend people intern here if they want meaningful work.

      Pros

      Better than average salaries for the region but be ready to play the game.

      Cons

      If you want to get ahead you need to get a job offer somewhere else and either get a counter offer or leave and come back later. There is no climbing the ladder vertically here.

      Management makes everyone feel like their job is at risk. The whole team is worried about getting fired. Not a satisfying place to be.
