The contract game. Of the ~10 years I worked here, almost seven were off and on as a contractor. Management treats this (contracting) as a way to reap all the benefits of a skilled labor force with none of the responsibility apart from flat compensation. If you contract here, there will be talk of possibly hiring at the end of you 12 or 18 month contract-it will never happen. Company uses the sequestration excuses to terminate contractors, then brings them back 90 days later. No upward promotion opportunities.

I had 40 years service when I was laid off while they were hiring younger employees. Management thinks experience is over rated and if you have a "procedure" a monkey can do any job. Nepotism is rampant. Quality and Ethics are just posters on the wall.
