Pros

Company have own sets of policies and assumption that you have to follow and your past industry learning will not be considered...When you join Genpact your assumption about IT/Software will change. Quote: "Every 5th person is Asst. Manager, 10th person is Manager, 15th person is Sr. Manager, 25th person is AVP"-- GANG of Average people (like BA/BCOM/BSC/Undergraduates/Correspondence/Distance MBA’s/Droppers) who never thought to achieve such position in life are the citizen of Roman........ One important thing "You will find lot of people RE-JOIN Genpact the reason is very simple once you have a taste of "LAZINESS/ BIG DESIGNATIONS/ PAK-PAK-PAK" here, you can not survive in any other Software company outside..and hence you don’t have option other than to join back Genpact.....Believe me its true- check out with your known friends here... Pros 1) Good training school for undergraduates/droppers, art ,law, and commerce freshers (Non-Technical field) 2) Offices has good Ambiance, Logistics, Security,Cab facilities,Work from Home(For Women/Managers only), Child crunches etc 3) You will learn about Six Sigma/Lean concepts 4) Company’s tagline itself says "Maintain Leadership"- Managers get special care 5) Will make you "Jack of All Trade"- Learn multiple skills 6) You don’t have option other than to take "Ownership" of the assignment 7) Every 5th person is labeled as Asst Manager--You also have a good chance 8) Good opportunities for social work through Corporate Social Responsibilities(CSR)

Cons

Cons 1) Not a good place for Niche profiles, like Software/Engineering/Medical/CA etc... 2) You might waste 30% of your daily time(Even though you are at operation level not managerial) in Meetings/Follow-Up / Escalation/ Re-scheduling/ Planning on papers etc. 3) Client expect your complete 8 hrs in the project, but company wants you to spend some time on company specific "extra-curriculum" activities. 4) Sometime you will realize that you are in a Government offices and the team you are dealing needs to be "Logically bribed/followed-up/escalated" to get the things done 5) Will make you "Jack of All Trade"- Lack Specialization 6) Everything is done through helpdesk ticket, for example if your washroom doesn’t have tissue paper or Water is not available, Shared printer is out of paper or to start Projector in the Conference room. 7) No On-Bench strength--Hires resource when required 8) Genpact practices unethical ways to save Attrition- 3 month notice if a resource is billable, if not company will relieve you next day with a buy-out option(No standard policy in place, just opportunism) 9) 2 type of Official functions, One for ’Employee’ and another for ’Managers’ 10) You will be surprised that you need to pay money to renew your company ID Card 11) 90% of team member get some sort of award --Not a Justice to whom actually deserve its 12) There is a crowd of ass-kisers, they will finally proof that all your points above wrong. 13) Most managers believes in Gold-Plating not in the actual project work
