Pros

Everyone I have met from Corporate on down has been a GOOD person, they truly live their core values. Compensation is fair, raises are small but awesome to see them give a bonus to every CNA in the company! I have been in hospice for many years and have learned a lot since my time with CURO.

Cons

It truly is a 24/7 business with lots of work after hours and weekends pushing workflow but healthcare is 24/7. Would like more in person education as CURO University can get boring in front of the computer all the time but it is effective. Company culture is fast paced but focused on doing the right thing.

Pros

Was the most rewarding job I've ever had. I was so proud to refer people to SouthernCare, I could honestly tell people that their loved ones would be given the best care. The hospice aids truly improved these patients quality of life. And most of the other staff did too. The staff I worked with made me a better nurse. They helped me improve every aspect of patient care I provided.

Cons

We were bought by Curo. Worst thing that could ever happen. Major budget, and staff cuts, lost some of the best nurses, and CNAs I've ever met. What we used to provide for patients (medications, supplies, equipment, TIME) was all taken away. I completely got screwed over at the end. I left the company for personal reasons, not related to the buyout. But, all that being said, this particular office will continue to do whatever they can for the patients and their families. I can't speak for the other offices, but the people here are wonderful.

Pros

Salaries are competitive, but come with a price (pardon the pun). Work schedules are somewhat flexible, but time off is discouraged.

Cons

Get ready to work your tail off. Staff are expected to be available to work 24 hours a day, 7 days per week. No excuses. No vacation time, no sick days, just a flat PTO rate to cover everything and it's not enough. Time off is discouraged. Your family/children are not valued either so don't plan on taking off early to attend your child's school function. The answer is no. Think your caseload is heavy now? This company expects miracles in that department. You'll be expected to follow as many patients as the company "thinks" they can throw on you. And why not? You have no life outside of Curo anyway. Management are dismally unqualified. It's sad when your superior has to come to you for answers. Morale is at a record low... Obviously. And ironically while patient admissions are at a premium, high standards of patient care are sorely lacking.
