Pros

All benefits are usually available after probationary period of 60 or 90 days -PTO and sick time (FULL TIME EMPLOYEES ONLY) -3 free pairs a year (June, December, and your birth month) -Exposure to operations regarding RX fulfillment and optician processes

Cons

-No employee discounts -Inconsistency of training standards within retail location -Poor upper management (Store Manager and above) -No incentive to promote sales (Bonus was mentioned if sales goals were met; never received or was not eligible despite being a top seller) -Groomed to assume responsibilities given to the Licensed Optician; when brought to the attention of Store Manager, I was denied a raise but was expected to continue “helping out the team”

Pros

Very cool collaborations, brand, and product.

Cons

I worked there for two years and cannot stress how much you should avoid this company. I have a lot of appreciation for the brand and the designers based in South Korea, and less so for the management team in the US office. There’s a lot of nepotism, resulting incompetence, and because of that, a lot of people in Manager positions have a certain impunity from any of their poor decision-making. They’re far more concerned about keeping the status quo than keeping people around who are actually able and trained to do their jobs. They’re also incredibly out-of-touch for managing a high-end fashion brand, and often my greatest challenge was making internal recommendations against their inflated egos. It’s genuinely a very cool brand! But when it comes to execution, everything falls apart because the US office has no brand autonomy. The head office in Korea keeps a very tight hold on things and they’re very weary of the US office handling anything because of negative experiences in the past (the Kanye mistake cost them at least a million dollars). When I worked there, the Korean office's web team couldn't even encrypt customer account passwords, so not sure what exactly they're so protective of. Don't even get me started on the benefits. None of the full time employees had health insurance for ages, until we begged management for a whole year and only then did we get it. You can forget about 401Ks too. Oh, but free sunglasses!

Not for everyone!

Pros

There aren't many pros to working here aside from the break room, the bathroom, the wage (16.50+) and receiving a free pair of glasses for your birthday

Cons

The job itself is relatively boring. Your job is to walk around the store all day cleaning frame after frame. You're also required to continuously ask clients if they need any assistance and follow them around the store. Most clients and workers here are entitled, rich, stuck up and superficial. There are a lot of cliques within the workplace. This job is not for everyone. Only a select few will do well here. There is little to no training so you will have to figure everything out on your own.
