Pros

The lab is busy so there is decent job security and you can gain raises when you complete certifications. Overtime is optional, however, if you want it you can get it. Also, several lab tests are interesting to perform.

Cons

Very labor intensive and you may perform many duties that are outside of what the position states. Also, deadlines can be unrealistic, however, this is mostly due to lack of communication or oversight.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We appreciate your acknowledgment of the job security and opportunities for growth through certification raises, as well as your interest in the lab tests we conduct. In the engineering and construction sectors, it’s common for roles to involve physical tasks such as site preparation, material installation, equipment handling, and more which can sometimes require more labor-intensive work. At GTA, we foster a collaborative work environment where teamwork is essential. If you find that your workload becomes overwhelming or extends beyond your typical responsibilities, we encourage you to reach out to your team leaders for support. Regarding deadlines, due to the fast-paced nature of our industry and the need to adapt quickly to changing demands, deadlines can sometimes be urgent. Supervisors can help assess if adjustments can be made to your tasks or if additional support is necessary to ensure that you can complete your work effectively. When the need for overtime arises, we make sure that employees are compensated fairly for their extra hours worked.

Pros

GTA has such a great working environment! Everyone is always willing to help when you need it and are also willing to challenge your abilities to help you learn. GTA has so many opportunities for growth and learning!

Cons

I have no complaints. Every once in a while you may work a few extra hours to meet a deadline or finish some fieldwork, but that's it. Everything is pretty great!

Thank you for sharing your positive feedback about your experience at GTA. We believe that a strong culture of teamwork and continuous development is vital for both individual and organizational growth. Working extra hours to meet deadlines is often a part of the dynamic nature of our industry. Our projects require adaptability and commitment, which can lead to extended hours at times. In instances where overtime work is necessary, we ensure that it is compensated accordingly. We also maintain open lines of communication, allowing team members to discuss workload expectations and deadlines with their supervisors. This approach ensures that we can manage these demands while supporting a healthy work-life balance for our employees.

Pros

Cannot think of anything positive to say.

Cons

During my time in the Accounting department, I noticed a significant disconnect between outward appearances and underlying dynamics. While interactions often appeared positive, I later learned that there were negative discussions about me after I left, which felt disheartening, especially considering the positive feedback I received during my tenure. It seems that the expectations for new employees were quite high, as I was only there for a few months and was expected to have an in-depth understanding of all processes. If you find yourself in a similar role, I would advise maintaining a professional distance and focusing on work-related matters. It's essential to be cautious about sharing personal information, as there are individuals within the team who may use it in ways that could affect your experience.

Thank you for your feedback. At GTA, we strive to support all new employees with thorough training and job walkthroughs before they begin their assignments. We don’t expect new team members to be familiar with every process before onboarding, and we prioritize setting them up for success with excellent training and support. For more senior roles, we recognize and value the experience they bring, tailoring onboarding accordingly. Our team leaders and managers foster a culture of accountability and positivity. To clarify, as part of our ongoing commitment to growth, we do regularly conduct comprehensive employee satisfaction surveys and implement new initiatives based on team feedback. We are committed to treating every employee with respect and do not tolerate rudeness or unprofessional behavior in the workplace.
