Pros

No dress code No federal background checks unless listed on projects No drug screens Work from home during COVID Lax management

Cons

Outdated technology stack Incompetent management You will work on bugs all day every day- no cool development, just speghetti code and defects You will work 70 hours per week with no compensation, work on weekends, work through holidays and your paid time off. You will be called all hours of the day and night. You will be used and badgered day and night. The company actually sends out cupcakes as a reward for working 70 hours per week while it pays you one of the lowest salaries in the market. Clients hate the product and the PMs treat staff terribly. It is hard to blame them but you will get tired of this. There is no management structure here and the owner thinks he is a developer. The company is one lawsuit away from folding. No work - life balance Most people here hate their job - everyone is miserable. The owner forces employees to post good reviews to dilute the bad ones. You will waste your time and your talent here- you were warned

We are sorry to hear about your experience and the way it made you feel. While this has been a trying period and we continually strive to provide a service for those looking to join the workforce or dependent on unemployment insurance, we make the extra effort to help those who are in need which may include working outside of normal business hours. As a balance, we provide a generous PTO allowance to help offset those efforts. We keep an open door policy and would appreciate the opportunity to hear about your concerns. Feel free to reach out to hr@geosolinc.com if you would like to discuss further. Thank you for your feedback.

Pros

Leads and coworkers are friendly knowledgeable and cooperative. PTO and telework options increase based on time committed to the company. Free sodas and fruits. Company events are fun and exciting. Holiday party offers a chance for extra rewards. Appreciation gifts for going above and beyond your workload. Bonuses based on annual performance. Entertainment and exercise equipment available onsite. Before mandatory stay at home orders were given for COVID the company released all employees to work from home, I feel they really look out for our best interest.

Cons

Sometimes I wish to be private and isolated and the building feels cramped , however the telework policy helps alleviate this issue.

Pros

I’ve had an extremely positive experience with GSI. The teams I’ve worked with have been motivated to succeed and filled with talented devs. We adopted an agile style of development a few years back that allowed devs to have more say in the projects that we work on. This switch also gave us insight on what other teams are working on and how their code might interact/conflict with our own. I also enjoy our daily stand ups, sprint planning and retrospectives. GSI also provides a decent benefits package, PTO, telework and the rest you’d expect. During this time when you hear most companies are shutting their doors, Geosol has switched nearly everyone to full time telework, and did it before things started to get bad. While unemployment is skyrocketing, I’m so grateful to work for a company that cares for their employees and our families. I’m also proud to have this opportunity to help those in need during the pandemic.

Cons

I really don’t have any cons. A few months ago I might have mentioned a heavy workload but it’s hard to complain about having plenty of work to do, especially when so many people out there have none.
