Pros

Tuition assistance program available after six months of employment. Access to university facilities: library, recreation center, etc. Reasonable benefits.

Cons

Stagnant wages for staffers. No cost of living pay increase in five years. However, faculty continue to be hired and promoted. Lots of middle-management vice-presidents making $100K, while staffers get laid off or no raises.

Pros

Great co-workers. They don't care about politics they just want to come in and do a great job. Great benefits.

Cons

No raises, Layoffs and layoff roomers, micromanagement, not family friendly, low pay. IS&T is a difficult place to work now due to new management. You really have to watch your back as management WILL throw you under the bus. Unnecessary internal politics and micromanagement make people not try to make IS&T better they just put there heads down and do what is told. It was not always this way, but new management must be put in place for IS&T to succeed again. If you are in IT and looking avoid GSU for now.
