Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. From 2014, with the launch of the Affordable Care Act (ACA), to 2017 with the repeal of the individual mandate, the health insurance market has been in a fairly constant state of flux. In light of all of the changing legislation and state, as well as individual needs, GetInsured has certainly proved itself to be a nimble technology team that can respond intelligently to the market’s changing demands. This should not be mistaken for a lack of vision or direct, as the company still holds itself to its original mission of helping as many Americans enroll in affordable health insurance as possible. In fact, to date, the company’s technology has touched just under six million enrollments since 2014.

Pros

Free food on tuesdays and Thursday’s. Free snacks as well. Of course as a health insurance brokerage they’d have health benefits which were decent.

Cons

One of the most unprofessional offices I’ve worked at. Management was desperate for employees and was willing to lie and tell the hires they’ll be hired at first as seasonal then permanent after open enrollment. The main honcho was sleeping most of the time and always tried to stir things up in the office by gossiping about everyone that worked there. They changed our office hours a good 4-5 times. They lied to us all continuously letting us know our jobs were secured only to let us go the day of. No prior notice. This place is a perfect example of the greed in this corporate world. Management forged our time sheets as well which when we asked for a copy when we were let go we still didn’t receive it. We were cheated on compensation even with applications we sold.

We can say that while many agents were hired into full-time positions, many were brought on with the understanding that their tenure was seasonal, and while the end of a role is never pleasant, for many this was expected. All of our agents received training and licensing at no cost to them, which they have the benefit of carrying with them. And, as you mentioned, GetInsured offers excellent benefits. Thank you for sharing your thoughts and, as always, your concerns will be discussed internally.

Pros

Normal start up pros such as health insurance, 401k, and free lunches a couple times a week.

Cons

The downsides of working at GetInsured were vast. As an employee you are under valued, not respected, under appreciated, and never heard. The upper management lacks effective communication from large changes to daily tasks. Profanity can be heard through glass thin meeting rooms at times of high levels of stress. Emotional sporadic decisions are made by executives along with the CEO, with little visibility into what is actual going on in the company. Too many changes with too little insight into what the company is trying to accomplish long term. These rash business decisions always, 100%, come to hurt mid to low level employees, over and over again, with no regard or regret. If you enjoy working like a robot, being yelled at and ridiculed and given no direction on how to improve, or you just enjoy suffering, work for GetInsured.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feelings on your experience at GetInsured. As you mentioned, we do provide lunch twice a week as a benefit to employees; this is a great way to encourage cross-departmental interaction so you can hear directly from your coworkers what’s happening in their work areas. It also saves employees some money each week on lunch. We actually provide several cost-saving programs for employees in addition to free lunch, like commuter and cell phone reimbursements. There are also a host of additional employee savings on gyms and outings available through the internal company site. As far as health benefits, several options are provided—all at very little cost to the employee. Our benefits program is quite competitive in the marketplace and we were pleased to be able to offer the same level of benefits for 2018 without any added cost to employees. Turnover and change are natural in our industry—especially now. Since the new administration took office, there have been several failed health bills, and there are a lot of open questions as to what the future holds in regards to health insurance in this country. However, most of the team at GetInsured view this as a tremendous opportunity to be at the forefront of this evolving market and continue to help individuals, companies, states and insurers navigate the new waters. We are constantly thinking of new ways to respond to the market and innovating enrollment platforms—and we think that’s pretty exciting. Every other month, GetInsured holds its board meetings. Following each of these, there is an All Hands employee meeting in which our CEO talks to the entire company covering latest updates. If you haven’t attended these, we’re sorry that you missed out on excellent opportunities to hear the latest updates from around the company. It’s a great chance to stay on top of the latest thinking from the highest level of the company. We also have an open door policy at GetInsured, so if anyone feels that they are not being communicated to enough, they can feel free to speak with him/her.
