Pros

Most of the people are great and a good benefit package.

Cons

Lower pay for area, no job security (laid off over 200 employees in the last year - some had been with the company or companies acquired by Gildan for over 20+ years), long hours with no additional compensation, high stress, current employees working long hours to compensate for staff let go, hard work and long hours not appreciated by upper management

Pros

Resume builder - work in a large company with many contacts and experiences. Benefits in high level jobs are decent.

Cons

Departments are competitive with each other - no team attitude. No corporate strategy is communicated so you never feel plugged into overall goals. Management is detached and impersonal. Every time a piece of business is lost people are fired - people are in constant fear of losing their jobs.

Pros

A great learning experience in dysfunctional companies.

Cons

Management has no idea what they're doing more than half the time. Employees are given the tools to fail yet blamed for everything. Lots of finger pointing going on at this place. Margin for error is tremendous due to the amount of manual work that is required. Salaries are pitiful, given the Manhattan location. Free overtime is expected and you are guilt-tripped if you don't comply. Constant disasters and damage control going on. Priorities shift by the minute. The upper management is predominantly male. The women are definitely low-balled, in terms of salary and treated like administrative assistants.
