Pros

Great immediate colleagues and managers, relaxed work environment, great benefits, compensation good* (see below in cons for an expansion on this).

Cons

Sexism. GitHub is very diverse and works hard on this but sexism is still rampant. I made €20k~ less than masculine presenting colleagues in the same role with the same experience and missed out on a promotion due to maternity leave, which masculine presenting colleagues got with less tenure. When raised the company investigated themselves (lol) and found they had done nothing wrong (lol) despite all evidence to the contrary. Another con would be lack of transparency around budget cuts and lay offs

Pros

Remote work, great benefits. Still some good people left.

Cons

Seems to be more and more people given leadership positions from outside, ex. AWS rather than hiring internally. This is ruining the culture, and many talented Hubbers are leaving as a result. Inexperienced, micromanagers are chosen over dedicated and talented GitHub employees. It has become intolerable to say the least.
