Pros

All remote, you get to decide when you work and how to work as long as you deliver results.

Cons

Career growth seems limited unless you get to work on what senior management focuses on. A lot depends on whether you can pur yourself in the right team.

Pros

Good benefits in relation to family and time off. Smart and caring people, overall a very good company culture. Remote-only company with proper procedures and practices to assist in productivity. Great product that works and customers love.

Cons

If you are thinking of joining Gitlab do it. Gitlab sales, think twice. Then ensure you negotiate a good territory prior to starting and get it in writing. Incompetent and lazy territory/account allocation from senior management is causing some reps to vastly overachieve, while most are struggling to gain little commission. Typically favouring reps with 3 or more years of tenure, that have secured the largest/best accounts. Some guidelines have been put in place to reduce inequality but are not followed by certain regions. The BDR function is poor and need a refresh as well as proper investment. Our solution, for all its goodness is all encompassing, and therefor exciting/new differentiated features are perceived as expensive and difficult introduce into new clients. All of this leaves an enormous attainment gap between reps, frustration for new reps to hit target and ultimately more attrition.
