Pros

Great cause, Purposeful Work, Workplace Autonomy and the ability to drive decisions and outcomes

Cons

There is a push and pull between the tenured and older practices vs the change that is happening/needs to happen within the organization. Not enough to deter me from working here.

Pros

GlobalGiving is doing important work around the world. They’re out there trying to make a difference in a very direct way, connecting donors with projects and communities that need help. Their mission is something anyone would get behind – it’s about giving people the tools they need to improve their lives, no matter where they are.

Cons

The organization is dealing with some issues that are pretty common in growing non-profits, but they’re worth mentioning. First, they’re losing staff more often than seems ideal. This turnover can really disrupt their work, making it hard to keep projects on track and maintain relationships with donors and partners. It’s a challenge that needs attention because continuity is key in this kind of work. Also, the staff is stretched too thin. They’re ambitious, which is great, but when you’re trying to do too much with too few people, it’s not just the staff that suffers – the quality of the work can take a hit too. They’re in a phase where they’re growing and trying to do more, which is commendable, but it seems like they need to scale up their team to keep up with their own goals.

Pros

The staff is incredibly smart, supportive, and generous. There's an authentic desire to support vetted, community-led nonprofits around the world with whatever THEY think they need for development. There's a hunger to improve (listen, act, learn. repeat; never settle); to help others (always open; commitment to wow).

Cons

As we scale, there can be growing pains (like putting compliance over culture) and we need to treasure the special values that make GG unique/reminding ourselves why we do the work.
