Pros
There are some great people here. If you're a hard working employee and reliable and have half a brain you'll usually be given an opportunity for advancement.
Cons
Upper management is delusional (hey guys, you work at an insurance company in McKinney, TX, not Wall Street. You're not gods on Mount Olympus, either.). The executives here like to make sure everyone knows how important they are and that the lowly mortals don't deign to breathe the same air as them. Mostly, compensation for any position under management level is astonishingly, astoundingly low. They promote from within because they know they can pay much less than if they hired someone from outside to do the same job. However, they have no problem spending ludicrous amounts of money redesigning the executive kitchen/dining/lounge area, and letting the executives schmooze it up at boozy dinners and work trips.
