Great place to learn/grow if you genuinely get excited about building
Pros
There are some really smart people here, who genuinely care and work incredibly hard to solve problems. Which is honestly one of the best parts of the company. We're fully remote and global - and still quite small. Which means opportunity for exposrue to different markets, and you're also closer to how the business actually runs than you would be in a bigger company. You learn fast, because you kind of have to. There's also a strong cultural base for a remote company. It's not perfect - and being fully remote and global does make this hard - but there is a real effort to try to keep people connected.
Cons
Go1 is very much in that (messy/hard) scaling stage right now. There’s a lot going on, things are needing to move fast, and like most tech companies right now there’s definitely a tension between what the business wants to achieve and how much capacity there is. So day to day that can look like priorities shifting, things not always being fully defined, and needing to figure stuff out yourself. You definitely won’t always be told exactly what to do or how to do it. There’s also just a lot of change. If you’re not comfortable with that, it will feel hard. If you like structure, clear direction, and everything mapped out, it’s probably not the right fit. If you’re more of a builder, comfortable in ambiguity and happy to connect the dots and step up, you’ll probably get a lot of opportunity. One more - being global does mean in some roles there is a requirement for some early morning/late evening calls to connect with people in other regions. But there's flexibility around how you manage your time.
