Pros

Remote. Most of the sales managers, while inconsistent and unavailable a lot of the time due to being overextended themselves, are supportive. They do adjust and lower quotas based on trends and call flow which is nice because I've worked other sales jobs before where they would never dream of doing anything like that. Bonus/Commission payouts are a little bit higher than most other sales roles. Pretty much unlimited PTO but you do have to figure out the extremely confusing Alvaria internal system to really take advantage of that. Healthcare benefits are VERY good, its enticing to work here just for that.

Cons

The inbound sales/care role is three jobs rolled into one--IT Helpdesk technician, Sales, and a Customer Success Manager. You will be held responsible for the metrics of all three of those roles too, not just sales. I was actually on a PIP twice in my two years at Godaddy and neither one of those PIPs was for sales. The base pay is terrible as well and doesn't go up if you move to more senior levels, which is different from other SAAS sales gigs where base will go up if you're promoted to Senior Account Executive, for example. Base pay only goes up through mandatory annual raises. Base pay for sales folks who have been at Godaddy for ten years is absolutely laughable. With years of sales experience, you could easily make twice on base pay alone than what you're making on base pay if you had been working at Godaddy for ten years. The time adherence metric was utterly ridiculous and actually increased twice over my two years. It got to the point that because the bathroom in my apartment was farther from my room, I actually had to keep water bottles nearby my desk to alleviate myself because the minimal time it would take for me to go to the bathroom would end up dropping me under adherence time metrics. They have no legitimate way of dealing with abusive customers, it's only performative. You're actually expected to stay on the phone with customers who are hurling slurs, attacks/insults at you, violent rhetoric, sexually explicit verbiage etc. Usually at other sales roles when this happens you just hang up the phone on them, take a short break, and then move on to the next call. But at Godaddy, if you are caught hanging up on a customer, you WILL be fired. It doesn't matter if the customer is abusing you, you're expected to take it, waste time tracking down a manager, report it to a manager, hope the manager actually takes the call and that will take a LONG time. I actually once had an abusive caller, reported it to the acting supervisor on the floor that day and not only would he not take the call, he actually told me I needed to learn to put up with it. I ended up hanging up the phone and reported the manager to HR. I'm not sure if anything was done cause I never heard back from HR. Luckily, no supervisor caught me hanging up on the caller and even if they did and actually have the audacity to badger and punish me for it, I would have quit right there on the spot. Internal tools are CONSTANTLY going down, like almost daily, and not working and metrics are not adjusted accordingly for this.
