Pros

• Rapid opportunities for promotion • High commission payouts (when paid correctly) • Exposure to a fast-paced, tech-focused environment and work from home

Cons

• Unattainable sales metrics and unrealistic performance targets • Frequent issues with commission payments due to adherence tracking errors • Discriminatory work culture with limited diversity and inclusion • Male-dominated management with signs of favoritism and bias • Lack of work-life balance, with pressure to work overtime for basic compensation • Poor management accountability and frequent disputes over pay • Stressful work environment with no breaks between difficult calls: If employees need to take time to recover from a challenging customer interaction, this impacts adherence, leading to loss of commission. • Lack of job security; employees are penalized for issues beyond their control • Essentially a glorified technical support role: Employees are expected to upsell customers who are already upset about billing or technical issues, often recommending products that may or may not fix the issue, all while being judged on customer satisfaction (CSAT) scores.

Pros

20-25 call average You have the opportunity to sell, sell, sell.

Cons

It is a call center environment, and turning the conversation into a sale is an exhausting task. Tech issues and people calling to remedy a problem are not always in the headspace to have products/services pitched. It is exhausting.
