The pay and benefits are ok.

Gee where do I begin? From the moment I am on the floor I feel like I am in a battle, cursed at, being attacked , belittled, feeling abused by resident and by staff. I am retiring soon and am counting down the months. Never will I walk in there another day! There is a company merging with good Sam hopefully there are some changes coming soon

Pros

The relationships with the residents were encouraged in the beginning of employment. It was satisfying to serve and care for the seniors, taking pride in the tasks given. It was a Christ centered atmosphere.

Cons

After management changes took place with in past 2 years the mission is no longer implemented. Executive manager has caused resident satisfaction to decline. Residents feel as if or when they complain they will be ignored or have no one to complain too. Residents are being told to move if they don’t like it when they do complain. Residents are now treated as a number. Staff that stood for the Good Samaritan Way, are bullied or eliminated by management. Staff and residents are now living in fear. Residents are now receiving poor treatment and neglect. The Christ centered atmosphere is gone.
