Pros

A loving, caring company with a heart for its mission and the people they serve. Having worked for this company for over 30 years I had seen lots of changes. Some good and some not so good, but that is to be expected. Regardless of what the change was or why it was always done with the best intentions and for the good of the staff and residents. I'm convinced there is no better place to work if you want to feel loved, valued and at peace. I would continue to work for Good Sam if I hadn't moved to a state and city where they are not located.

Cons

Pay can always be better in this industry but it comes with the territory. To pay the staff what they truly deserve, as I believe they are doing God's work, would mean passing that cost down to the residents. That's a catch 22. The only other issue would be sometimes the shortage of help which could be related to the lower wages but also because of all the competition out there.

Pros

Great vision and values, most co-workers there because they felt part of the broader vision and values, corporate down communicated well it's vision and values.

Cons

Lower wages in general, difficulty balancing necessary rules and regulations with being able to focus on what's more important (care of the residents).
